Aronsohn (Wiener) Spratt of Myrtle Beach, SC, died peacefully July 4 at age
89 following hospitalization for respiratory problems.

peacefully July 4 at age 89 following hospitalization for respiratory
problems. Born in Superior, Wisconsin, she graduated from Superior Central
High School in 1937. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of
Minnesota and earned an MA in Child Development. She was active in Girl
Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA and international folk dancing in St. Paul and
Minneapolis in the 1950s and 1960s. Her first marriage, to Dr. Daniel Wiener
in 1941, ended in divorce in 1968. In 1969 she married Dr. Nelson Spratt. She
collaborated with him on his text "Developmental Biology" (1971).
Following the death of Dr. Spratt in 1975, she moved to Myrtle Beach in 1976,
and worked as the Librarian of the Meher Spiritual Center for 21 years. She
retired in 1997 and then researched and wrote a family history, "Set in
Amber: Preserving the Lithuanian-Jewish Immigrant Experience" (2000).
She loved music and played the piano throughout her life, playing duets with
friends until her final years. Preceded in death by her parents, Herman and
Pearl Aronsohn. Survived by her brother, David (Elaine) Aronsohn of
Minneapolis, Minnesota; sons, Jon Wiener (wife Judy Fiskin) of Los Angeles
and Paul Wiener of Hinckley, Minnesota; daughter, Sara Pearson (husband
Patrik Widrig) of New York City, and grandson, Joe Hughes of Boston. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Sunday, July 12, at Superior
